Dear DMV,

Thank you, one and all, for being irreplaceable parts of the Greater Washington, D.C. Region, for making the 2018 Suite of Entrepreneurship (ESHIP) Programs and Celebrations such a great success — and, on a personal level, for embracing me so warmly, as I began a new adventure of serving as an entrepreneurial ecosystem builder back in 2014.

To Serve is to Live.

Every aspect of this Community has reinforced my belief that we are a team — the best team in the nation! Our power to chart the future is unstoppable when we pull together. I hope to be an agent of change, knowing that change — in the nation’s capital — has unique and totally positive implications: it means more, better, higher, stronger, surer, richer. Each of us belongs to the DMV family in order to change, to be an agent of change. We are in this together, you and me. I am so grateful for that.

We gathered at the Street Pitch 2018 + #FoundersRising Awards to recognize achievement and grit during Global Entrepreneurship Week. In the applause and excitement of the next wave of rising New Majority entrepreneurs, take a look around at everyone who’s clapping, watching the stage and listening. We’re all the same here. All of us have achieved. All of us strive for success and even greatness. This is a night for all of us. Tomorrow, we will do what we always do in the DMV community: get up, go back to the grind, accept success as a reward that delivers a new challenge, and embrace the future.

For the remainder of 2018, though, savor the moment. Enjoy yourself. Have fun and have safe travels home. Thank you once more, from the bottom of my heart.

Best wishes,
